"I wanted to finally take my son fishing for the very first time together. We got to Everglades City and I started asking the locals who to fish with. The only name that came up was Derrick Daffin, every time, so I made the call.
Man what an experience! He understood that we were beginners and really took care of us. He was really easy to get along with, and had a great sense of humor. My son is shy, but Derrick's jokes had him laughing all day. My son had a great time and never got bored even once. How can you be bored when you pull fish non-stop?
From the very FIRST cast, we caught a trout. Then the 2nd and 3rd etc. Later he took us to the backcountry and started searching for 'structure'. Ten minutes after he found the one he liked, I had a 12 pound Redfish in the boat. I swear the guy can see the fish underwater. Fishing had never been so fun! We had so many keepers to clean when we got back home. I can see this becoming an annual event (we still have that Snook to catch for the fish-trifecta.) I am telling all my friends to give Captain Derrick a call for an awesome day of fishing."

"If you want a guide who will give you his best every time, someone with a great personality to go along with stellar fishing skills, Captain Derrick is your man. I've been fishing with him for around 10 years now and often bring clients along, because I know they will experience a great day AND catch fish!"

"Captain Derrick is a great fishing guide, knowledgeable and informative about the habitat of the 10,000 islands and the Everglades and is as dependable a guide as you will find. I recommend him to both my clients and my friends and know they will be well taken care of and come back with smiles on their faces and fond memories of one of the last wilderness areas in the lower 48 states. If the fish are biting, Captain Derrick will find them for you to catch!"

"I have been 'fishing' the 10,000 islands a few times a year for the past 25 years (or at least I thought I had). I met Captain Derrick about 5 years ago and was introduced to truly 'FISHING IN THE EVERGLADES'. The first time I went out with him we stopped counting how many snook we had caught after about 50 or so. I estimate that we had to have landed 80 to 90 snook that day. Of course that was also keepers for the entire fishing crew. Let's just say he had an instant customer for life. I am yet to go out with Captain Derrick where we did not catch several fish and bring back a keeper each time. He has an awesome personality and I can promise you that you will enjoy your trip. I also started taking my son when he was 7 and Derrick treated him like they were best friends. He loves fishing with 'the Captain' and looks forward to that fishing trip every spring and fall. If you have children that like to fish, I HIGHLY recommend taking them on a trip of a lifetime that they will never forget."
